He worked his way up from a common shoemaker to the king of the shoemaking industry. He transformed a small Wallachian town into a modern industrial metropolis. It will be 130 years since Tomáš Baťa laid the foundations of his business empire in September. The story of the company is well illustrated by the architectural landmarks which he and his half-brother Jan Antonín left behind in their native Zlín. Let's follow in their footsteps.
