* recorded in the personal card:
Václav Rojt came to Zlín on the recommendation of František Lata, who knew him as a sales assistant in a colonial shop in Uherské Hradiště. His employment started on June 1, 1910. After the initial mandatory round, he started at the company Bata in the department for order listing. He soon became a close associate of Josef Blažek. Subsequently, he was the head of the scheduling department. Among other things, he was also responsible for the quality of goods and their packaging. From 1916, Václav Rojt was Blažek’s deputy. When he became the head of the shoemaking workshops, he helped put the moving shoemaking circle into operation. His nature was very stubborn, he was persistent and his opinions were always supported by facts. He was able to convince Tomas Bata himself with his arguments. He was also the only one who did not accept responsibility for participating in the profit and loss in the amount that Tomas Bata demanded and defended his position before him. From 1933 he was in charge of exports for East India, in 1938 he went to India and devoted himself to the development of foreign branches of the Bata company. He also died in India.
Václav Rojt through the eyes of Tomas Bata: I appreciate your work. I will not talk into your soul, you are a grown man. As you know, I respect every person not only for their work skills. However, that is not enough. Let the scales of your personality not fall because of your morals. I would bear such a fact hard, but I could not look away.
