The lecture introduces the basic principles of personnel activity according to the Bata philosophy. Over the years, Tomáš Baťa saw the company's strongest competitive advantage in people. Not only in their commitment to work, but especially in their strength of character and constant self-development. Many of his quotes refer to how crucial his co-workers were to him. Among other things, he said: “There will come a time when the availability of goods will be the same, the price of goods will be the same and the quality will be the same. What will be able to differentiate us from our competitors will be the quality of our service, and that will depend on us.”
The task of personnel work in the Bata company was to fully exploit the personal potential of each employee, so that they could apply the so-called “creative spirit” to their work.
The key was to create a relationship in which both co-workers and the company are willing to go the extra mile because they want to, not because they have to.
