Exactly one month ago - on 5 December 2024 – the premier performance of a new play by the director and actor Petr Vacek, entitled Baťman, was held in the Prague theatre Divadlo Na Jezerce.
It is a production full of humour, music and dance, surprising and true information about the life and business success of the founder of the shoemaking empire Tomáš Baťa - and how his principles and beliefs influenced the whole world.
The Thomas Bata Foundation was actively involved in the creation of the script, acting as a kind of supervisor, communicating not only all the historical events but also the timelessness of Bata legacy to the creators.
The role of Tomáš Baťa has been taken by David Suchařípa, and the other roles by Ivo Šmoldas, Miluše Šplechtová, Jan Řezníček and others.
