The lecture focuses on the personal growth of Tomáš Baťa and the transformation of his thinking, which also included a change in his approach to work, communication, sharing, etc. Tomáš Baťa is an inspiring figure not only because of his business successes, but especially because of the management system he developed, which perceived each co-worker as a unique personality and managed to awaken in him the desire to excel. Tomáš Baťa understood, on the basis of common sense, what every person longs for - self-worth, and the company under his leadership was a company where self-worth grew.
One cannot be led to self-worth by a person who does not know it. It took Tomáš Baťa almost two decades to learn that self-worth is not determined by what others think of a person, but by what he thinks of himself. Baťa went through a profound transformation, during which he changed from a manager to a leader. It was not an easy path, but it proved to be the right one. He had to adopt many ordinary and inherently simple habits that, taken together, proved essential for his personal development and the development of the company.
