The lecture introduces the system that was used to create and anchor the corporate culture in the Bata company. In particular, the way of sharing, communication, substitutability and working friendship is defined. As Tomáš Baťa said, “No company can choose to have only one production. It always has at least two. The one it thinks it has - that is, what it produces, and the corporate culture. It is not possible to decide not to want the second one; it always has the second one, even if it loses the first one.”
Corporate culture was one of the strongest pillars of the Bata company, making it unique. It was so exceptional that it was quite common in the world to meet so-called “Bata men”, and what is more, people wanted to belong to this phenomenon. This corporate culture became a way of life for many. There was a situation where the lifestyle became identical to the corporate culture and therefore people did not waste energy balancing between work and lifestyle, it was in synergy. How do we achieve that today? Take inspiration from Baťa.
