WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

Bata Week

The Bata Week Festival is a very special cultural and social event held regularly at the beginning of autumn. Every year in September, the Thomas Bata Foundation opens the Bata Villa to the general public and for five days offers a truly varied programme dedicated to a selected theme linked to the timeless Bata legacy. Visitors can look forward to lectures, talks, workshops, as well as special guided tours. In addition, the final day of the festival includes an after-party in the garden of the Villa, with a concert by a selected regional band.

For the first time ever, the Bata Week Festival took place in 2017 and since then it has welcomed hundreds of enthusiastic visitors to the Bata Villa as well as a number of truly renowned experts as lecturers - for example, David Valůšek, Lucie Šmardová, Ladislava Horňáková, Zdeněk Pokluda, Zdeněk Lukeš, Jana Wohlmuth Markupová, Magdalena Preiningerová or Petr Havlíček.

“The life of young people in Bata’s Zlín”, “125 years inspiration by Bata”, “Family life of the Bata couple”, “Creators of the Bata phenomenon” or “Life is movement”. These are selected topics that the festival has dealt with in recent years.

The Bata Week Festival is intended for the general public and admission to all its events is free. It is a contribution of the Thomas Bata Foundation to the education of society and cultural life in the city of Zlín.
