The lecture focuses on the topic of connecting community life, public administration and the business sector in mutual synergy. Tomáš Baťa understood that the basic prerequisite for sustainable development of a company is that society should develop at the same time.

Today, we often live in the prejudice that it is possible to develop only one part fully, to the detriment of the other. Baťa advocated the opposite, but he also argued that people cannot rely on the state and that the state must create the most suitable conditions for its inhabitants.

Tomáš Baťa was the mayor of Zlín from 1923 and managed to develop the city and the business in synergy. How can we use his knowledge for the effective development of public administration and the private sector today?
