The Thomas Bata Foundation creates an environment and space in society in which the cultural and business worlds are connected. It builds on the philosophy of Tomáš Baťa, who perceived the complexity of human society with all its aspects that must be developed equally. The Foundation supports culture, education, community life, the activity of young people who have a desire to create, and connects the business environment and interest groups.
The Foundation actively spreads the legacy of the Bata phenomenon, helping to apply it to the contemporary business and social environment. It connects individuals and institutions with whom the Bata legacy resonates.
The Foundation financially supports projects that develop community and cultural life. It helps young people and schools with their development and educational projects, and not only those related to the Bata legacy. The Foundation supports several projects each year. The Foundation actively develops culture in Zlín and its surroundings. It regularly organizes social and cultural events for the general public. Not only thematic talks and lectures, but also concerts are held in the Bata Villa. Important events include the May Day celebration and the Bata Week Festival. The Bata Villa is one of the most visited monuments in Zlín. The genius loci of its owner is still present today and his personality is reflected in it. You can visit the Villa during guided tours or rent its premises. It offers a unique atmosphere for your meetings, conferences, entertainment, educational and social events as well as wedding ceremonies. We present the timelessness of the Bata legacy and management system for today through lecture topics for various target groups. The team of lecturers delivers lectures across the spectrum, from kindergartens, the largest domestic companies, to homes for the elderly. Absolutely everyone can find inspiration in the Bata legacy. We offer lectures, workshops, the Bata Academy and the Meet Bata programme for pupils. The Foundation has also established the Bata Student Club for secondary school and higher education students.
The Foundation is the main publisher of Bata literature in the Czech Republic and abroad. Over the years, it has published over thirty book titles, including reprints, which authentically present the workings of the Bata company until 1945.
