WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

8th year 2024

VIII. year of the Bata Week Festival will be in the spirit of the motto "Life is movement"

ZLÍN – Tomas Bata Foundation I Series of discussions, lectures, guided tours and several accompanying events. This is the offer of this year's Bata Week Festival, organized by the Tomas Bata Foundation for the eighth time. This time, the rich program on the 16th-19th September 2024 will highlight the 130 years of the Bata company and also of the Bata motto "Life is movement".

With an iconic slogan, Tomas Bata appealed to the need to constantly move forward, both in professional and personal life. "Bata's ability to move almost anything and anyone who wanted to was admirable. Tomas Bata considered human will to be the strongest driving force in the world, which is why we focused this year's festival program on factors that lead people to change," says Jakub Malovaný, project manager of the Tomas Bata Foundation.

In the program of this year's Bata Week Festival, there is no shortage of connoisseurs of Bata history, but also personalities from the ranks of travellers, athletes and experts in healthy lifestyle. "We are sincerely happy that the topic of Bata is not only understood historically, but that it resonates more and more often in connection with contemporary topics. Healthy lifestyle, movement, travel, but also topics in the economic and transport environment are still relevant and we are solving them today, just as Tomas Bata solved them in a similar way. And what is important - it is not necessary to be inspired by specific steps, but by the attitude and approach to the given issue," said Gabriela Končitíková, director of the Tomas Bata Foundation.

During the five days of the festival, historian David Valůšek will visit Villa of Tomas Bata in Zlín, for example, who will focus on how the Bata company sold shoes, publicist Pavel Stojar will give a lecture on the importance of Zlín aviation, and specialist Petr Havlíček will talk about a healthy lifestyle. "The lecture by the traveller Tomáš Vaňourk from Expedition Z101 will certainly be interesting, who, together with the head of the H+Z Archive, Magdalena Preiningerová, will describe how the world is changing and we with it, which we definitely recommend. But visitors should definitely not miss the sports afternoon, which will offer both a boxing workshop right in the garden by the villa, as well as a subsequent informal discussion with first-class sports trainers," adds Jakub Malovaný.

Admission to all events in Bata Villa is voluntary, however, the organizers recommend that you reserve your place in time by emailing sekretariat@batova-vila.cz, as the capacity of the premises is limited. The complete program of the festival is available at www.nadacetomasebati.cz.

This eighth year of the Bata Week Festival is organized by the Tomas Bata Foundation in cooperation with the Tomas Bata Memorial in Zlín, the H+Z Club and the Zlín Architectural Manual, with the support of the statutory city of Zlín and the Zlín County.
