As part of the commemoration of 90 years since Tomas Bata's last flight and 700 years since the founding of the city of Zlín, the sixth year of the Bata Week Festival is dedicated to the visions of Tomas Bata in building factory industrial cities in the country and around the world.
The main theme of the festival is the presentation of the vision of an industrial city, its implementation and life in the contemporary Bata cities. This time, the lecture and exhibition activity will focus on hitherto lesser-known facts from the Bata cities.
Among the speakers will also be representatives of individual cities and institutions that are trying to bring life back to the former Bata factories. The program will include a discussion evening about the future of these places, and you can look forward to the accompanying program in the form of screenings of historical films and the presentation of a new animation.
On Friday, September 16, 2022, a unique theatre discussion will take place, with actors and directors from the Zlín Municipal Theatre, who brought to life the fates of the Bata family in the theatre. Subsequently, the festival will end with a concert by the Zlín band Franc Alpa, directly in the garden of Tomas Bata's Villa.
