The lecture given by the Egyptologist and historian Marie Peterková Hlouchová on Thursday 26 January presented to the public the latest research results of the Czech Institute of Egyptology of the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in locations in Abu Sir and Sakkara in the last five years.
The Evening Tea with the Fleret music band was unique. The evening was moderated by Jakub Malovaný, the guests were Zdeněk Hrachový and Stanislav Bartošík. The pleasant talk was interspersed with music. The seating capacity was full; this evening was attended by 99 visitors, the biggest number of all the evenings.
The March Evening Tea presented the legendary song by the Zlín music bank Premier. It was not only a music evening. A few people know that this song inspired the writer Jaroslav Irovský to write a book with the same title. The music accompaniment was played by Jaroslav Bobowski and Jaroslav Mikoška.
During the meeting called “Behind the Curtain of the Philharmonic Orchestra”, the life in the Zlín Philharmonic Orchestra of Bohuslav Martinů was discussed. We were taken behind the imaginary curtain of one of the most renowned domestic orchestras by the director of the Philharmonic Josef Němý and the chief conductor Robert Kružík. The musical accompaniment of the evening was provided by the talented harpist of the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Amelia Tokarska.
The last Evening Tea of this season belonged to chansons performed by Lucie Šustek Rybnikářová. The repertoire of the young actress and singer, who has worked among other things in the engagement of the Municipal Theatre Zlín, is decorated with proven hits of both Czech performers - for example, Hana Hegerová or Zuzana Navarová - and, of course, foreign ones, led by the queen of chanson - Edith Piaf.
On Thursday 23 November 2023, an imaginary trip not only to the recent past along the Vlárská dráha took place with the writer, folklorist and winemaker Josef Holcman, paying tribute to Miroslav Zikmund, Karel Pavlištík and Ludvík Vaculík. Among other things, Holcman‘s latest book, The Third Way, was presented, but his other literary works were not neglected.
On Thursday 14 December 2023, another evening in the regular series of Evening Teas took place at the Bata Villa. This time the programme was music-oriented, with well- known domestic and international chanson hits performed by the actress and singer Lucie Šustek Rybnikářová and pianist Martin Pančocha.
